Week 1 Day 5
Scripture:
Reflection:
James could have introduced himself as “the brother of Jesus” or “the pastor of the Jerusalem church.” Instead, he chose the title servant. His identity wasn’t in position, success, or relationships — it was in submission to Jesus.
The same is true for us. If your identity rests in anything other than Christ, it will eventually crumble. Only Jesus gives you an identity that can’t be taken away.
Personal Challenge:
Reflect: What am I rooting my identity in?
Write down one truth about who you are in Christ (for example: I am loved. I am chosen. I am forgiven.). Declare it over yourself today.
Prayer:
“This letter is from James, a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ.” — James 1:1 (NLT)

Jesus, You define who I am. Help me root my identity in You alone — not in my past, my position, or my performance. I belong to You. Amen.
